The Southwest Licking Youth Baseball League is a volunteer organization that brings the great American pastime to the children of southwest Licking county, particularly to the residents of the Southwest Licking School District located in Pataskala, OH.

The League prides itself on offering four divisions:

1.  T-ball and Rookie League for 4, 5, and 6 year olds where children are learning basic baseball skills

2.       A Minors division of 7 and 8 year olds where coaches are pitching a select number of balls and children are playing various positions in the field.

3.      A Prep division of 9 and 10 year olds were the players are pitching for the first time, utilizing the skills that they learned in lower age groups and developing an understanding of true sportsmanship.

4.       A Majors division of 11 and 12 year olds were it all comes to life under the lights and off site tournaments are a highlight of the season.

Baseball has been played on the Lions Club Park Fields on Refugee Road for almost 50 years. We've recently encountered coaches having the grandchildren of their own former coaches.  Every April, May, and June you can find many of the residents of the area enjoying an evening at the ballpark as many have done for years.

We are an organization that prides itself on offering an affordable experience for youth baseball.   Local Businesses have sponsored teams for years so the youth of the area can learn the game and have a positive experience.

Even with the evolution of "travel baseball," the SWLYB League continues to provide a baseball season to over 400 children in all 4 divisions in the spring and fall.  Children continue to get the chance to play baseball with their school friends to compete for a season or tournament championship.
